The ‘Heritage Counts’ reports, published annually by Historic England on behalf of the Forum, provide data on the heritage sector in England and the value of heritage in our society.
The series includes: the Historic Environment Overview, providing an annual summary of highlights from across the sector; ‘Heritage Indicators’; ‘Heritage and Society’; ‘Heritage and the Economy’; ‘Heritage and the Environment’; a thematic issue every year.
Since 2022, the HEF has published the Historic Environment Overview element of Heritage Counts on behalf of the sector. Reports covering the Financial Years 2021-22 and 2022-23 were produced with support from Historic England and the National Trust.
